Mobile replenishment tracking

Every round deserved a clear record, not a forgotten report.

Technicians from an external company were responsible for restocking automatic PPE vending machines spread across dozens of sites.

For each visit, they received a paper list of items to restock. When an anomaly was encountered (excess stock, an unplanned item present, a picking error, an incorrect location...), it was simply noted by hand directly on that sheet.

At the end of the day, these documents were handed over to the responsible teams, with no standardized structure and no digital history.

The problem

Tracking interventions relied entirely on handwritten notes. Each driver described anomalies in their own way, which sometimes made them difficult to interpret. Information was scattered across several paper sheets, no photo could ever be attached to an anomaly, and it was practically impossible to quickly retrieve the history of an intervention weeks later. The goal was to replace this paper-based process with a mobile app able to structure information, standardize anomalies, add photos when needed, and fully automate reporting.

The solution

I developed a dedicated Android business app for tracking interventions on vending machines. The user journey was designed to be as smooth as possible: the driver selects their identity, chooses the province for their round, accesses vending machines sorted by area through an intuitive carousel, records anomalies found on each vending machine (excess stock, unplanned item, missing product, etc.), adds photos when needed, then moves directly to the next vending machine. Once the round is finished, a single button closes out all interventions: the app automatically compiles all collected information, generates a structured PDF report, and sends it directly by email.

All interventions are recorded in a local database. From the home screen, the driver can find all previous rounds, identified by date (e.g. "Round of 15/06/2025"). Each report remains accessible at any time and can be resent by email instantly, without re-entering information or recreating an intervention — simplifying communication with managers and making it easy to retrieve a complete history of past operations.

What this project demonstrates

I don't just build applications: I first analyze field constraints in order to design tools that genuinely simplify users' daily work. In this project, the goal wasn't just to digitize a paper form, but to create a complete solution combining data collection, administrative task automation, history management and intervention traceability. This approach, blending business understanding with development, is what I aim to bring to every project.
